What’s it about? The Expendables are sent on a mission to stop an evil group called the Sangs, headed by Jean-Claude Van Damme’s character – named Jean Vilain (yes, seriously) – from unleashing warfare and doing evil war things with a giant batch of plutonium.
Review: Before I tear into this movie, I must say this is probably one of the most enjoyable films I have seen in a while. I am a huge fan of action movies and most of the stars in these movies are actors I’ve grown up watching and admiring. So to have them all together in one movie is always a treat. If you’re looking for a great way to pass the time or want a heavy dose of overt manliness, go see it.
Those who have seen the first film will know exactly what to expect with the second installment. It has the same wink-at-the-audience flair about it; only they’ve taken the first film to dizzying new heights of cheese and turned its entire cast into catchphrase-spewing machines. Continue reading
